Folio 373: John Aylmer, HMS Captain, Hamoaze. Requests the commissioners reconsider the stopping of his pay due to expenditure whilst captain of HMS Theseus. He explains the reasons for the expenditure, the purchase of planking to keep the bread room dry and the satisfaction of the Commander in Chief with his conduct. Requests the impress be removed.
Folio 374: Enclosure with folio 373. Letter dated 1 March 1797 by C. Hope, Navy Office to Captain John Aylmer, HMS Thesus, Spithead. Informing him that Portmouth officers have been directed to furnish him with rope for replacing the top mast shrouds.
