Folio 364: John Aylmer, HMS Captain. Cawsand Bay. Reports arrival having left Gibraltar on 17 September 1797.
Folios 365-366: Enclosure with folio 364. Letter dated 10 September 1797 by Sir John Jervis (Viscount St Vincent), on board HMS Ville de Paris, off Cadiz to Captain Aylmer commander of HMS Captain. Requiring him to appropriate the ward room and as much of the half deck as necessary of HMS Captain to accommodate invalided and wounded seamen from the naval hospital in Gibraltar. Commissioner Inglefield has been instructed to supply all necessary materials. Additionally he is to take under his protection any merchant ships belonging to HM or neutral powers to accompany him as far as their courses allow. To proceed as quickly as possible to Cawsand Bay and land the invalids at the naval hospital.
