Folio 190: William Robert Broughton, HMS Penelope, Yarmouth Roads. States that John Louden the apprentice was pressed by Lieutenant John Gedge Of HMS Penelope on 9 April 1803 and having been 2 Years and 11 months at sea and more than 19, thought it proper to detain him. He was discharged into HMS Mariner fro a passage to the Nore.
Folio 191: enclosure with folio 190. Petition of John Philip Laing of Monkwearmouth [Sunderland] in the County of Durham, Ships Owner. That John Louden apprentice was impressed and placed on HMS Penelope. Request he be discharged.
