Description

Folio 172: William Robert Broughton, HMS Penelope, Yarmouth Roads. Regarding Richard Gooding states that he was detained by the Revenue cutter HMS Badger, being one of the men taken in an open boat attempting to run a cargo of Spirits on the Coast of Suffolk (the Master of the vessel says he was only a passenger). It does not appear that Joshua Turner (mentioned in Mr Marden letter of the 16 April 1803) or that Joel Farminie has been pressed by any of the Cruisers at this port.

Folios 173-174: enclosures with folio 172. Petition of Richard Gooding of Bawsey, Suffolk, Yeoman. Requesting to be discharged.

Folio 175: enclosure with folio 172. Henry Gooding of Bawsey, Suffolk, Yeoman, the Father of Richard Gooding the petitioner of the annesed petition and John Abigail Ellis of Great Yarmouth in the county of Norfolk, Officer to the Sheriff of the said County. Hereby make oath. sworn before William Taylor, Justice of the Peace, on 16 April 1803 in Great Yarmouth Norfolk.
