Folio 155: William Robert Broughton, HMS Penelope, Yarmouth Roads. Reply to letter of yesterday, informs that John Meggitt the apprentice mentioned was pressed by Lieutenant Milne of HMS Penelope in HMS Hunter, Cutter on 29 March 1803. Lieutenant Milne doubted the indentures and thought it proper to bring him on board HMS Penelope where he remains. Report the arrival of the Revenue Cutter HMS Badger today with one man pressed.
Folio 156: enclosure with folio 155. Affidavit dated 9 April 1803 by John Pearson Master of the Brigantine Four Brothers of Thame in the Parish of Hull belonging to Messrs Gilderdale in the County of Yorkshire that John Meggitt is an apprentice. Signed before J W Bulcock, Union Hall, Hull.
