Folio 429: Lambert Brabazon, Regulating Captain, Dublin. He reports that in his anxiety to transfer the impressed men to the fleet, he asked Mr Wickam if he might borrow a Revenue Cutter. He agreed to this but a dispute has now arisen about the cost of provisioning the impressed men when they are aboard the Revenue Cutter. He encloses a letter from the Customs House about this matter. Mr Wickam has told him they are under the orders of Lord Gardner. He suggest that two revenue cutters would be very useful and that the Agent Victualler at Dublin could provision them.
Folios 430-431: enclosure with folio 429. Letter from Alan Maclean, Custom House, Dublin, dated 1803 Aug 13. The letter reports that the Revenue are happy to loan their Cruiser Townsend under the command of Captain Huddart to take impressed men to Plymouth. He sayes if the Revenue vituals the men it will cost one shilling a day not the nine pence three ha'penny offered by the navy. Instead he suggests that the navy victual them and furthermore provide a guard to ensure good behaviour.
