Folio 418: Lambert Brabazon, Regulating Captain, Dublin.. He refers to Lieutenant Daly's letter about the cost of boat hire. He says he encloses Lieutenant Daly's affidavit [not enclosed] and also the letter from the owner of the Boat. He thinks the charging rate excessive but he goes on to point out that his own enquiries showed that boats could not be hired for less than 14 shillings a week. He had understood that Lord Keith had been given orders to send him two boats but only one has arrived and that with masts and sprits but no sails. Accordingly he does not have enough boats to organise an efficient impress.
Folio 419: enclosure with folio 418. Sworn Statement of M. Jenkin dated 28 May 1803 sworn before Hugh Smyth. He states that he hired his boat to Lieutenant Daly for fourteen shillings a week.
