Folio 187: Duncombe Pleydell Bouverie, HMS Mercury, Deptford. He explains that the reason William Barris was impressed because the Captain had not been shown the enclosed indenture [not enclosed] certifying he was an apprentice.
Folio 189: enclosure to folio 187. Letter dated 19 May 1803 by J Dowson and Son, Lloyds Coffee House. A letter stating William Barris, who has been impressed, is an apprentice as evidenced by the enclosed indenture [not enclosed] and they request his discharge.
