Description

Folios 178-182: Duncombe Pleydell Bouverie, HMS Mercury, Deptford. He reports that a man named Patrick Scott was impressed from the Blackbird by Lieutenant Guise. The man is too old to be an apprentice. Thereafter, he voluntarily entered the Service and has stated he is willing to remain on board HMS Mercury.

Folio 179: enclosure to folio 178. Letter dated 5 May 1803 from Sir Evan Nepean of the Admiralty Office to Captain Bouverie, HMS Mercury. Forwarding an indenture and petition relating to John Young.

Folio 180: enclosure for folio 178. A petition dated 3 May 1803 of John Young saying Patrick Scott is his apprentice and asking for his discharge.
