Folios 422-425: Philip Beaver, Maldon. Encloses copy of"loyal and liberal" letter from the proprietors of vessels on the oyster grounds in the River Crouch to Captain John Bayley who commands the Sea Fencibles in that division of his District.
Folios 423-424: enclosure with folios 422-425. Letter dated 28 August 1809, Burnham offering all vessels belonging to the undersigned in the River Crouch to assist in any way if the enemy should invade. Signed by John Hawkins, Simon Crush, S. Hawkins, John Sweeting, James Hawkins, Daniel Rogers, Thomas Auger, W. Garrington Senior, John Richmond and Richard Bowten.
