Folio 381: Internal Admiralty memo that Lieutenant Joseph Briggs is to be confirmed as commander in the West Indies.
Folio 382: enclosure with folio 381. Letter from Thomas Collier, dated 2 February 1802, at Hare Court, Temple, enclosing a commission from Rear Admiral Thomas Duckworth for Lieutenant Joseph Briggs to be appointed commander of HMS Gaiete.
Folios 383-384: enclosure with folio 381. Official commission for Briggs to take command of HMS Gaiete, superseding Captain Robert Fanshaw, who moves to HMS Castor, Captain Bernard Hale being deceased.
