Folio 361: Edward Pelham Brenton, London. Responding to their lordships' enquiry as to what had become of the dispatches with which he had been entrusted. He says that no dispatches or indeed service letters of any kind were given him by the C-in-C at Jamaica, and that as he had received his orders four days before sailing, he concluded the term 'accompanying despatches' was only included in case there might be some such communications.
