Folios 334-335: Jahleel Brenton, HMS Santa Dorotea, Spithead. Advising of his arrival this day from Gibraltar, having left there on 17 March as per the orders of Lord Keith and Captain Berkley, directed to Captain Hugh Downman, whom he has now superseded by permission of Sir James Saumarez. He encloses copies of those orders and a list of supernumeraries aboard the Santa Dorotea, two of whom formerly belonged to the Calpe but are now confined for having deserted their ship and who were taken to Gibraltar by Captain Mudge of the La Constance, from Lisbon. The reverse of folio 334 shows the order from Lord Keith, given aboard the Foudroyant at Valette on 25 December 1801, directing Downman to proceed to Mahon with some military convalescents and packets for the CO there, then to Gibraltar Bay, where he is to land the recovered soldiers and take commands from Admiral Saumarez, before proceeding to Spithead.
Folio 335: enclosure with folios 334-335. Copy of order from Velters Cornewall Berkeley, senior officer at Port Mahon, to Captain Downman. Dated 6 March 1802, aboard HMS Genereux. Repeats orders from Lord Keith.
