Folios 302-304: Edward Brace, HMS Camilla, Spithead. As the purser of the ship is currently in Winchester Gaol, and the officer appointed in his stead has not joined, Brace has been obliged to buy coals and candles, about which he has written to the Victualling Board. As he has had no response, asks if their Lordships will intervene on his behalf so that he may recoup his expenses. Reverse of sheet shows his two letters, dated 1 and 12 January, the first stating the shortage of fuel and asking for instruction, the second saying that in default of a reply he has had to purchase fuel and candles to the sum of £5.18s. and hopes they will honour his draft.
