Description

Folio 295: James Bowen, 13 Russell Place, Fitzroy Square. Thanking their lordships for the period in which he was commissioned to fly a broad pendant, and asking if they will advise the commissioners that he should receive the additional pay for that time.

Folios 296-297: enclosure with folio 295. Original authorization for Bowen to hoist the broad pendant on HMS Argo, from the time of leaving Madeira to the moment he approaches Barbados, when he must strike it. Dated 13 October 1801. Signed Troubridge, Adam, and Markham.
