Folio 282: William Bowen, HMS Caroline, Long Beach. Advising that an application has been made to him by Mr Pearson, a brewer residing at Rotherhithe, whose boat was seized at Woolwich some while ago, being then occupied by William Covey, who was caught in the act of stealing a quantity of iron - part of the Caroline's stores. Covey was sent to Maidstone and has been sentenced. So Bowen asks if Pearson may now have his boat back, it being currently in the custody of Deptford Naval Yard.
