Folio 261: William Bowen, HMS Caroline at Woolwich. Wishes to draw their Lordships' attention to Mr Richard Booth Bowden, who has served his time as a midshipman and passed his exams at the Navy Office on 6 January last year. The young man is among those who have been sent from the Caroline to the Alarm, and Bowen feels he must do justice to his merits, strongly recommending him, saying he has often distinguished himself and his conduct was always to Bowen's satisfaction.
