Folios 457-459: William Butterfield, HMS Hazard, Spithead. Provides a full account of how the vessel came to be struck on the Boulder Sand. Mentions Mr Brown, Master. Advises that it was an accident occasioned entirely by the particular influence of the tide and thickness of weather and he has no complaint against any of the officers. Advises that although he had written that there was no damage to the ship as it did not take on any water, he now believes the false keel to be injured.
