Folios 397-398: George Burdett, HMS Sophie, Spithead. Reports his arrival that day having returned from cruising off Cape La Hogue. Explains that as the easterly winds set in when he received his orders, he sailed without the Ship's company being paid in order not to lose any time, and has now anchored at Spithead to ensure no further time is lost in paying them.
