Folio 320: Edward Buller, HMS Edgar, Hamoaze. Requesting the exchange of Thomas Jurrett, Carpenter HMS Edgar, and James Taylor, Carpenter, HMS Prince Frederick between their respective ships and confirm that the respective Commander do not have any objections and that as the ships are of the same rate, the request can be agreed. Advises that James Taylor is the carpenter that Captain Hall and Captain Butler wrote a letter of recommendation to Lord Spencer asking for him to be removed from the convalescent ship to more active employment. Also signed by: Thomas Jurrett and James Taylor, Carpenters; [William] Galton, Lieutenant and approved by Admiral Sir Thomas Pasley.
Folio 321: enclosure with folio 320, Letter, dated 28 January 1801, from Edward Buller, HMS Rippon, Hamoaze to the Admiralty. Forwards the letter, on the desire of the Carpenter of HMS Edgar whose current health will prevent him from being useful in active service for some time.
