Folios 250-252: Thomas Browne, HMS Chapman, Milford Haven. Reports his arrival last night at Milford Haven, without a convoy as none were ready to sail from either Plymouth or Falmouth. Advises that he has made enquiries at Milford Haven and there will be no convoy ready to sail for some time. Explains that the original orders of this ship in such circumstances was to cruise in the Bristol and St George's Channel but these have been done away with by the representation of the former Commander that it was too dangerous due to the winds and dangerous Channel. Requests permission to cruise instead westward of the Isles of Scilly where she could be of service as the enemy's cruisers would take her to be a Merchantman.
