Folio 232: Thomas Browne, HMS Chapman, Milford Haven. Replies to letter of 26 June 1801, stating that William Cole was impressed as a consequence of him having information of Cole being a Seaman and formerly in the Royal Navy and finding from Cole's own confession, the information to be just. Encloses a letter from Mr Knox.
Folio 233: enclosure with folio 232. Letter, dated June 1801, from Thomas Knox, Soho Square, London. States that William Cole, Shoemaker, from the parish of Stanton, currently impressed on HMS Chapman. has a wife and family to provide for as well as workmen in his service. Advises that William Cole wishes to be discharged and is willing to provide a Landsman in his place.
