Folio 453: William Bligh, HMS Irresistible, at Sea. Responds that Thomas Brereton Steward is the man described by John Kerrison. He is on the Ship's Books as a Prest Man and has received navy slops.
Folios 454-455: enclosure with folio 45. Letter dated 5 July 1801 by John Kerrison, Yarmouth, to the Admiralty. Request for the release of Thomas Brereton Steward, who was impressed at Hull and detained on HMS Irresistible. States that he is a lessee of one of his farms at Rainworth and has never been to sea as stated in his affidavit.
Folio 455: enclosure with folio 453. Affidavit dated 6 July 1801 signed by John Kerrison, Yarmouth, in front of Sam Barker, Mayor and Justice of the Peace, Great Yarmouth. States that Thomas Brereton Steward is a miller and farmer on a property leased from him on 10 October 1797 for 20 years and has never been to sea.
