Folios 487, 490: William Butterfield, HMS Hazard, Spithead. Forwarding a request by Edward Davis, Purser of HMS Hazard, to be superceded owing to ill health.
Folios 488-490: enclosure in folios 487, 490. Letter dated 13 August 1800 by Edward Davis, HMS Hazard, Spithead to Captain William Butterfield. Having applied to Earl Spencer to be superceded owing to ill health, the Earl advised that the application was to be made by Captain Butterfield on his behalf to the Admiralty.
