Folio 395: George Bowen, HMS Trusty, Spithead. As an opinion too generally prevails to the prejudice of Irish Troops. Reports the detachment of the 54th Regiment on board HMS Trusty, wholly composed of volunteers from the Irish Militia Regiments, that they conducted themselves with much good order and propriety.
