Folios 200-201: Sir Edward Berry, Princess Charlotte, Spithead. As per orders from The Right Honourable Lord [George] Keith KB [Sir George Keith Elphinstone (1st Viscount Keith)], he sailed from Gibraltar on 3 November 1800 with the transports and merchant vessels, List enclosed [not present], for Lisbon. Having seen them safely over the Bar of Lisbon, he made his way to Spithead to await orders. He spoke to HMS Adventurer on 15 November 1800 and parted on 21 November 1800 all well, on the 28 at 7:45 PM made private signal to a strange sail steering SSW which was answered.
