Folio 178: Alexander Becher, [Regulating Captain], Faversham. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from the Foreman of this Fishery on his refusing to grantpProtections to the Sea Fencibles by order of Captain Hamilton. Request instruction on how he should proceed.
Folio 179: enclosures with folio 178: Petition dated 28 February 1800 by William Lightfoot, Foreman of the Oyster Fishery Company of Faversham, to Alexander Becher, Faversham. States they voluntarily enrolled nearly 200 of themselves in the Sea Fencibles on HMS Dordrecht in the River Swale. Requests the renewal of the protection certificates.
