Folio 344: John Buchanan, HMS Roebuck, the Nore. The Mother of John Flint serving on HMS Adventure as Captain of the Foretap asks for his advancement. Flint has a liberal education and his behaviour in the past 5 years in different ships has been exemplary. Captain Buchanan ask if Flint may be promoted to Midshipman on HMS Roebuck.
