Description

Folio 349: Ommaney and Druces, Cecil Street. They are sending a Commission rom Admiral Sir Hyde Parker appointing Lieutenant George Hans Blake as Commander of HMS Amaranthe in the place of Captain Parker. Asks for directions for the Lieutenant to continue in that rank.

Folios 350-351: enclosure in folio 349. Admiral Sir Hyde Parker, Commander-in-Chief of ships employed about Jamaica and the Islands, HMS Abergavenny, Port Royal Harbour, Jamaica, 15 August 1799. Partly printed order to Lieutenant George Hans Blake to take command of HMS Amaranthe, in the place of Captain Parker, removed to HMS Pelican, vice Captain Philpot [Robert Philpot] to command HMS Echo in the room of Captain Allen [John Allen], invalided.
