Folios 259-261: William Butterfield, HMS Hazard, Plymouth. Replying to their letter of 12 December 1798 regarding the 'R' being removed from the ship's books against Edward Davis, Purser, explains that he is satisfied that Edward Davis took the earliest opportunity to join the ship as soon as he knew of her arrival at Plymouth.
