Description

Folio 430: William Bligh, Admiralty. Requesting an additional week's leave to assist the delay in the production of his equipment.

Folios 431-433: enclosure with folio 430. Report dated August 1798 by William Bligh to the Admiralty. Description and use of an instrument, invented by William Bligh, to regulate naval evolutions for the readily taking bearings of land or ships when sudden emergency will not allow time to use a compass for that purpose.
