Folios 241-243: William Bedford, HMS Royal Sovereign, Torbay. Regarding 3 members of his crew (1) Thomas Robinson (Private Marine) had deserted from Gun Vessel Assault at Penzance prior to joining the Marines at Taunton (2) Robert Manning (alias Richard Jones) had previously deserted from HMS Scipio at the Nore and (3) despite advise in John Knowles's (Regulating Service in Guernsey) letter regarding the capture of deserter Nicholas Torode, he has not returned.
