Folios 52-55: James Bissett, HMS Janus, the Downs. He applied to the Victualling Board for a supply of vegetables and is sending their response.
Folio 53: Enclosure in folios 52-55. Letter dated 14 October 1797 from the Victualling Office to James Bissett, HMS Janus, the Downs. Vegetables cannot be supplied to the Downs but if the ship goes to Portsmouth, Plymouth or Chatham then the usual proportion will be supplied by the Agent Victualler.
