Description

Folios 167-169: S. J. Ballard [Samuel James Ballard], Portsmouth. As soon as the trial was over in London he set off to join his ship but has not yet been able to do so. As soon as the weather permits taking the Marines on board he will proceed to St Marcon. HMS Pearl was 18 Seamen short due to deaths, invalids and 5 deserters. Asks for his complement to be completed.
