Folios 200-201: [Honourable] Charles Boyles, HMS Raisonable, Plymouth Sound. Reports the arrival of HMS Raisonable today from off Cape St. Nicholas Mole, having left on 1 August 1796 by order of Commodore Duckworth, copy enclosed with a journal and state & condition report of HMS Raisonable. States he was unable to join Carpenter [Charles] Carpenter on HMS Intrepid with the Jamaica Trade Convoy due to light winds. On the 5 August 1796 a canoe from Grand Cayman informed me that the convoy had passed on 29 July 1796. Reports that off Bahia Honda to the west of Havannah [Havana] I took a French Privateer of 4 Carriage Guns and 41 men, it was fitted out at Charlestown which she left on 19 June 1796. With my damaged sails and men down with the scurvy I have put into this anchorage.
