Description

Folios 181-182: James Bowen, HMS Glory, Spithead. Reports that the time keeper put on HMS Glory by Thomas Mudge answered beyond the most sanguine expectation notwithstanding it was his request secured to my desk and partook of the motion of the ship and during 6 weeks of the worst weather it kept steady and regular in its rate which was only one second out. It was checked by both Lunar Observations and the other Cronometer [Chronometer]. Recommends it.
