Description

Folio 307: Sir Richard Bickerton, HMS Ramillies, Spithead. Reports his arrival with HMS York, HMS Robust, HMS Incendiary, HMS Megarea, and the Atlas Ordnance transport. The hired cutter HMS Venus has been left at the Downs on Admiral Duncan's [Adam Duncan] orders. The troops aboard HMS Ramillies, HMS Robust and HMS York are healthy. HMS Eurus separated after he sighted Admiral Duncan's squadron and he has not heard of her since. He encloses a statement of his ship's condition.

Folio 308: enclosure in folio 307. A report dated 7 November 1796 by Sir Richard Bickerton and Carpenter [James ? Clevsley ?], HMS Ramillies, Spithead, listing the defects of the ship.
