Folios 276-277: Velters Cornewall Berkeley, HMS Emerald, Spithead. Acknowledges the orders to collect a convoy of transports, store ships and victuallers bound for Portugal or Gibraltar and send a list of these ships. He has made a signal for all vessels bound to the westwards, but so far only one Master has asked for instructions and as he was bound for Guernsey he was not given any. He will make inquiries about other vessels. The ship was not paid yesterday, and there is no sign it will be paid today.
