Folio 254: Richard Henry Alexander Bennett, HMS Eurydice, the Nore. Acknowledges receipt of the letter of 4 June 1796, regarding the four Indiamen he complained about earlier, they did not obey his orders to shorten sail when off Beachy Head and he could not enforce his orders without losing touch with the rest of the convoy. One of the four, he believes it was the Princess Charlotte, later suffered an accident and the Admiralty should not suppose it was his fault, because she was no longer under his convoy.
