Folio 238-239: William Bedford, HMS Royal Sovereign, Spithead. As ordered by [Admiral] Sir Peter Parker, he has made up a set of Pay Books for HMS Queen and sent them to the Navy Board, but has received a reply that the books have been made up to 16 June 1796, which was the date crews were exchanged between HMS Royal Sovereign and HMS Queen, but that the Board have no orders to pay the ship up to that date. The Board asked that he make up a new set of books ending 31 December 1795, and a Slop Book to the same date. He asks for orders that HMS Queen be paid up to the date of exchange, as this will save both time and [Pay Book] paper.
