Folios 342-343: Albemarle Bertie, HMS Thunderer, Spithead. Responding to the letter of 28th November. Points out that as he does not know the level of his stock when the French Officers came on board, it is impossible to calculate the additional expense. Mr Hodgkinson, who is at Spithead, asked the same question. He asked Mr Turner (of Spithead) to make a calculation based on the provisions he has supplied, as he could think of no better way. He estimates £300 for the Captain, and £200 for the Officers of the boardroom. He has passed this on to Mr Hodgkinson.
