Folio 340: Albemarle Bertie, HMS Thunderer, Spithead. Reports his arrival, together with HMS Jason, by order of Sir John Borlase Warren. On board the Jason is Monsieur [?General Puisaye] and his entourage. He has on board 297 emigrants, 70 of whom are noblemen and officers. They sailed from L'Isle Dieu on the evening of 19 November; the Commodore and the rest of the squadron more than getting underway for Quiberon Bay. Although they have so far escaped illness on board, dystentery has broken out and spread rapidly: there are more than 40 cases but he now has the opportunity to send then to Haslar Hospital for treatment. Also forwards a letter in the same post from the Commdore.
