Folio 323-324: Velters Cornewall Berkeley, HMS Emerald, Margate Roads. Letter of support for Mr May, who has been very zealous and of good service. Encloses [not present] a copy of his last instruction to him, with Lord Spencer's agreement, who read it and to whom he delivered the account brought by Mr May which was thought to be correct. He trusts the Admiralty will look as favourably on May as he himself does, and give him relief from his current unhappy situation, as pointed out in Captain Berkeley's last letter, when he enclosed a letter from Mr Germain Levi.
