Incorporated by act of 8th August 1859.

By act of 16th June 1873, London and South Western Railway Company was authorised to lease Ringwood, Christchurch and Bournemouth Railway Company. Company was transferred to London and South Western Railway Company as from 1st January 1874. London and South Western Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme dated 22nd December 1922.
