Folio 366: Jahleel Brenton, Regulating Captain, Greenock. Encloses [not present] his weekly rendevous return. HMS Adamant came into the Clyde and anchored in Greenock Bay. Was informed by Captain Bentinck that the Leeward Islands merchant ships are expected hourly and a great many good seamen might be procured. HMS Adamant is now at Lamlash. Was expecting one of the tenders to arrive so did not put any of the new raised men on board HMS Adamant. Has heard nothing from the Polly tender and has enclosed [not present] a copy of his orders to Lieutenant Stevenson for their Lordships information.
