Incorporated under act of 8 and 9 Vic, cap.121 (1845). By London and South Western Railway Act 3rd July 1846, authority was given for that company to lease or purchase Richmond Railway Company, and purchase was completed in January 1847. London and South Western Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
