Folios 34-35. Sir Thomas Mostyn to his brother. Arranged meeting with Newcastle. County [Flintshire] seen as disaffected because it did not raise subscription against rebels [Jacobites]; county 'too small and too poor' to do so. People from Chester [Cheshire] seeking refuge in Wales. Mr Hope and Mr Williams from Hawarden [Flintshire] arrested. Rebels will get no assistance in Wales; hopes Marshal Wade will catch them at Penrith [Cumberland]. Local 'Papists' agreed to 'not stir'. Dated at Mostyn [Flintshire].
