Folios 63-65. Draft. Newcastle to Lord Viscount Lonsdale. Carlisle [Cumberland] surrendered on 15 November. Hopes Marshal Wade will relieve castle. Accounts of rebel [Jacobite] movements should be sent to Wade and Sir John Ligonier. Justices of the Peace in Westmorland and Cumberland can be indemnified under Militia Act. Lieutenant General Handasyde arrived at Edinburgh [Midlothian] on 14 November. Dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex].
