Under Local and Personal Act 4th William IV, chap.xliii (1834), Aberavon Harbour Company was incorporated, and under Local and Personal Act 6th William IV, chap.xcviii (1836), name of Company was changed to Port Talbot Company. Under Port Talbot Railway and Docks Act 31st July 1894, Port Talbot Company was dissolved and reincorporated by name Port Talbot Railway and Docks Company. Port Talbot Railway and Docks Company was absorbed into Great Western Railway Company as from 1st January 1922 under Great Western Railway (Western Group) Preliminary Absorption Scheme (No.1) 9th May 1922.
