Folios 137-138: Justice Finlay, 13 Great George Street. Has been given permission to go to London to obtain medical advice for a serious injury received in a gale at sea on board HMS Rover on 19 March 1812. Refers to the enclosed letter from his advisor and asks to remain on shore for 2 months longer. Reports that Captain Henry Wildey is willing to take over his duties for that time.
Folio 139: enclosed with folios 137-138. Admiralty note dated 17 April 1812 stating that Henry Wildey to act as captain of HMS Rover during Finlay's absence.
Folio 140: enclosed with folios 137-138. Signed Astley Cooper, New Broad Street states Captain Finlay has reported with a rupture in his left groin and should remain on shore for a few weeks.
